There's a first time for everything
Last night was the kickoff of the new high school program at church. We had a seven students show up, which was exciting considering it meant we retained all the kids that were coming on Wednesday before we split junior and senior high.
Aaron was about 10 minutes into his sermon when our drummer came over to me to inform me the senior pastor had just contacted them to say a tornado was 30 miles away and we needed to close up and fast. We had students call parents and a few were picked up before it all hit. We of course were trapped in the worst possible place to be during a tornado. Our building is an old semi truck garage. So we put everyone in the girls bathroom and hunkered down as we heard the loud wind rip around us. We were safe thankfully. There were three tornados in our area, none near us. One was only a few miles from home and we drove by some damage on the way home from the church.
This would be why I am not a fan of central illinois. I am terrified of storms!

you know what the crazy thing is? if you lived outside of the midwest you'd really miss thunderstorms. as odd as it sounds, sometimes i long for lightening, vertical rain and the distant sound of a tornado alarm.
